Tikal is located in northeast Guatemala, in the state of Peten, just across the border from San Ignacio, Belize. It remains one of the most popular Mayan archaeological sites in Central America. The park features not only the great temples and other structures, but a wide variety of jungle wildlife, including Toucans, Howler Monkeys and the mischievous Coatamundi.
